The new Artplayer: your own personal art channel
If you’re a music fan, you’re probably familiar with the streaming radio of Spotify, Pandora or Last.fm: it’s radio able to play from a vast catalogue, from a single artist or a shared playlist from a friend. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy it.
Now imagine a Spotify for art. Artfinder’s new Artplayer is just that. It gives you an uninterrupted stream of art images, either lovingly curated by you or your friends or a deep dive into the works by an artist or movement, for you sit back and enjoy. It’s your very own personal art channel.
There’s a couple of ways you can use the Artplayer.
Artists and art movements
If you already know what you want, then the Artplayer can give you a superb leanback art experience. You’re after everything by Monet? Just click Play All on Monet’s page. Or maybe you want to widen the experience to all Impressionists? The Artplayer can offer you everything we’ve got, from the Impressionists or any of the major art movements, in one elegant stream of images.
Collections
If you’ve created a great collection, or discovered someone else’s, Artplayer is a fantastic way to sit back and enjoy. Once in a collection stream you can switch to other collections by that user from the menu in the bottom-right corner. A top tip to mention is that you can click the arrows above the image, or use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate the stream – or just hit Autoplay to do just that.
Zoom, collect, share
As you watch your personal art channel, you can use the Artplayer’s zoom feature to fully appreciate the works. As all the art on Artfinder is available in high quality, it’s really fascinating to see details up close.
Additionally, you can save the art you like to your profile with the Collect button, or share images with friends via Twitter, Facebook or email.
